Family Ingredients

Connections between Hawaiian families and their favorite family recipes are revealed in this series hosted by chef Ed Kenney. In each episode, chef Kenney meets with individuals in the islands and traces their food memory to its origin around the globe. In doing so, he also shows how cuisine unites cultures, communities and families. Stories take him to Okinawa, Tahiti, California, Japan, Puerto Rico and the Hawaiian Islands. Recipes researched include poi, soki soba, poisson cru, pipi kaula, miso soup and arroz con gandules.
